I dropped straight off the edge

olive prances about in her field of gold,
never knowing to do what she's told,
as the moments of her life unfold,
she's hopelessly free.
while pinto flies above, her wings on the breeze,
searching for a ground dweller to mock & to tease
while she herself, is shaking at the knees,
she's bound to continue.
olive never stops to take a break,
the silvern blades shiver and quake
beneath her ankles of give and take,
she's relentless.
still undeniably dizzy with flight,
pinto's eyes embrace the warm light,
and she finds her loss in the fight.
she's falling.
amidst her wave of absent-minded dance
olive grazes the sky with her hands full of chance
and feels the pulse of the instinctual trance,
she's trying.
pinto sees only the blue backdrop around,
her heartbeat racing with the speed of her sound,
while inside her chest, she's starting to drown,
she's about to be saved.
olive has frozen, glued to the spot,
not knowing why she's suddenly stopped,
just sure thats she's always known, but somehow forgot,
she's ready.
and the splash of color seems too much to bear
while the two souls find themselves colliding with air
and the world appears much too unaware
they've crashed into feeling.

Great shot!8i9iok (something fell on my keyboard and wrote the weird part, but I rather liked it). You can jump really high, unless that is a trick of perspective
